The Community Slot has became an important part of our programme and many of you have used it as an important element of your programmes. 

Shankill Radio will continue our commitment to ensure maximum community ownership and involvement in the station.  We are once again offering community, voluntary and statutory agencies the opportunity to participate.

The community slot operates each weekday between 2.30 pm - 4.00 pm.  Each slot offers a unique opportunity for groups and agencies to promote awareness of their work, disseminate information and involve their client group in a productive and rewarding experience.  Previous participants, given that the station broadcasts to the 23,000 residents of the greater Shankill community and beyond, have found that this represents an excellent marketing opening that should not be missed.

In addition to the obvious benefits to be had regarding publicity, the groups members and employees gain significantly from the whole experience.  It gives participants the opportunity to learn useful media skills in a low pressure environment and gain confidence in an area where training is very expensive.  Additionally, we now provide a training document to assist groups prepare for their show.
