Shankill Radio is a community led initiative working to promote the arts and community work, it is adjudged an outstanding success by listeners and participants alike.

We attract listeners from all over Belfast and beyond, reaching as far as Bangor and Carrickfergus with a massive listenership in the greater Shankill area.  The ownership the community takes of the broadcast is demonstrated by the sheer volume of feedback we receive and it is clear that the potential for advertising is huge, given the positive feeling generated for a product merely by association with something the community loves.

During the last station we took advertisement/sponsorship from over 100 businesses, both large and small.  All were satisfied with our rates, our service, the returns they received on their investment, and the overall professionalism of our operation.  We now have a proven ability to reach the people in our area and beyond, our listenership growing with each broadcast (over 18,000 calls were received during our last broadcast).

Programming will be dominated by popular music with local interest stories and community slots.  It should also be noted that we have a strict “no politics” policy which has ensured that we have listeners from both communities without fear of causing division or offence.
